Who is: Deadmau5
Deadmau5 is a stage name that covers a very unique individual. The name behind the red Mickey Mouse hat is Joel Thomas Zimmerman. This man was born in 1981 on the date, January 5th. He considers himself a producer of Canadian progressive electro and house music. He has his headquarters outside in Toronto. This man does not like being referred to as a DJ as he considers them middle men. Mixing two songs together to make one isn't something he respects. His work has stemmed from making compilations of tracks that have included such names as, Armin van Burren, and Mix Ma trance mix. He has released a few albums now, his debut was in 2006. The first album he released was named "Get Scraped".
He is also a solo artist and has released many original songs. He has worked alongside many different types of dj's and working with them to make the best music that he can. Rob Swire, Pendulum and Shrillex are among some of the big names that he has worked on projects with. He has branded himself with a Mickey Mouse like symbol so people will recognize that it is his music. He created the symbol using a 3D program.
In 2008 he collaborated with a type of music that hit the billboards #1 where he won many awards for the creation. He continues his push for music as he moves forward into the year 2009. His music was considered to be the best selling artist on Beaport where he had accumulated 30000 downloads with a few of his single hits. There hits include "not exactly", "faxing Berlin" and some other titles. Each one had broken previous records in the world. As he continues into 2010 he was named the best DJ for the year at the 2010 MTV music awards. In his reaction, he thanked the more popular performing artists David Guetta and lady gage for their contribution in bringing dance in the minds of the public.
For the release of his third album which was released in December 2010 in the UK. He topped the charts with singles from "Some chords" "animals right" and a few other songs that hit the public with shock and awe. Deadmau5 has also guest starred on the popular TV show CSI: Crime Scene Investigation where they debut one of his hits.
Deadmau5 has made himself into a public figure that has accomplished so much at such a young age. Taking over the music industry he is now the go to guy to fix any problems. He has also tried his hands in DJ Hero 2 where he is actually a character. Also, in grand theft auto an entire radio station was dedicated to his work. Each of these avenues to get his music out to the public has proved to be quite a ride for the young deadmau5 and showing no signs of slowing down. Pushing forward through adversity, he is being well supported.
